Before wrought iron and steel became ubiquitous in the industrial era, wooden hooped barrels were the norm. These hoops were often made from willow or other flexible branches and driven around the barrel very tight. These barrels were relatively cheap to produce, but were of course not as durable as their metal hooped successors. Excellent fit for a medieval setting.

Two barrels are provided, in different sizes, both less then a meter in height. Both barrels have a lid that can be taken off and textured interiors, as well as a bung that can be taken out. The tap is a separate model, and can be placed on the barrel where desired. The models are based on archeological findings from the 16th century, but similar barrels have been used all throughout the middle-ages and possibly even classical times.

The model is ready to be used in real-time projects and game engines. The 4k×4k textures provide a detailed presentation for close-up rendering. The textures are PBR and are presented in a metalness-roughness workflow. A combined detail texture is provided that can directly be used in an engine like Unreal Engine 4 and Unity. The tap has a separate 256×256 texture.
